Highland Fling: A Ransom & Fortune Adventure

A girl, a hit man and a time machine may be more than Dane Fortune can handle.

Skye Ransom’s quiet college life is shattered when tragedy strikes—her parents are killed on the same day, just hours apart. Grieving and desperate for answers, she receives a cryptic package from her late father containing a mysterious device. Determined to uncover its secrets, she ventures to his lab—only to be attacked by a deadly hit man. Her unlikely savior? The enigmatic and fiercely protective Dane Fortune, who offers her a chance at survival she can’t refuse.

Dane Fortune, an ex-military operative, was hired to protect Skye’s family by her genius inventor father. But when the job goes sideways and her parents are assassinated, he knows he must reach Skye before the killers do. What he doesn’t anticipate is the danger posed by the invention she unwittingly carries—a portable time machine coveted by ruthless enemies, including the NSA.

On the run from assassins and shadowy government agents, Skye and Dane are thrust into a heart-pounding race for survival. When the time machine accidentally whisks them back to the thirteenth century, they’re plunged into the chaos of Scotland’s battle for independence from England. Caught in a brutal clash of swords and loyalties, Skye and Dane must navigate a perilous past while learning to trust each other.

Can they outwit their pursuers, unlock the secrets of the time machine, and find their way home—or will they be trapped in history forever?
