GENE SHELBURNE wears an amazing assortment of hats, serving one hour as columnist, the next as a writer of sermons, and another as a doting grandfather. For forty-six years he has served as pulpit minister of the Anna Street Church of Christ in Amarillo, Texas. His column, Cross Currents, runs in half a dozen newspapers. He edits and publishes a nationally circulated monthly devotional magazine, "The Christian Appeal." He has written four previous books and a substantial part of half a dozen others. Having been wed for 56 years, Gene and his wife Anita proudly claim a daughter, two sons, and thirteen splendid grandchildren.

John Comer is Professor of Political Science at the University of Nebraska. He received his A.B. in political science from Miami University in 1965 and his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 1971. His teaching and research focuses on interest groups, public opinion, voting behavior, and political parties.

Returns Policy

You may return most new, unopened items within 15 days of the Estimated Delivery Date for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).

Any customer wishing to return a book has 30 days to do so if they are not entirely satisfied.

You should expect to receive your refund within three weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
