1902 reprint of the 1884 first edition. A good hardcover in rust cloth covered boards with a darkened spine that has chipped ends, tips still sharp, hinge papers fine, one former owner's name/date on fep. 212pp text tight and bright with some stains from several four leaf clovers that were pressed in a couple places. 40 illustrations clearly convey the concepts herein. Two press reviews of the day from = THE (UK) TIMES: "Hints On Driving, by Capt. Morley Knight has nothing to do with history or anecdote; His work is entirely practical. Doubtless there are other books on the subject, but none within our knowledge is more clear or complete in the instructions given for driving in single or double harness, and, above all, for the most difficult mysteries of four-in-hand or tandem driving". From = THE SPORTSMAN: "There are perhaps few greater masters of the detail of the art than the author".
