About the Author

Brenda Brozek, MAOL, RN, is a Communications Consultant for several professional nursing organizations. She specializes in helping groups and individuals effectively deliver their messages to a variety of audiences.

Brenda began her nursing career as an RN in cardiac care at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, California. She later became a staff educator and then manager for a regional education department serving more than 5000 employees in Catholic Healthcare West (now Dignity Health) hospitals across Northern California. She conducted many seminars for managers to help them improve their job interview skills and select the best applicants for their open positions. Brenda then customized this popular curriculum to create a highly effective workshop for job seekers, and later, the successful book: You re Hired! A Nurse s Guide to Success in Today s Job Market. A talented public speaker, Brenda has presented at regional, statewide and national professional conferences.

Becoming a registered nurse was a second career for Brenda. Prior to joining the nursing profession, she worked for several years in public relations, advertising and marketing. She has a Master s degree in organizational leadership, as well as Baccalaureate degrees in nursing and communications studies.
