Famous Texas cattle trails including the Shawnee Trail, the Chisholm trail, the Goodnight-Loving Trail, and the Western Trail. Each accompanied by a map. After military service in the 1950s, the author worked for a major Houston-based oil company, state and federal natural resource agencies, and Texas A&M University. In 1984 he became a planner in fields of natural resource conservation and management. After more than forty years of extensive travel throughout Texas, he retired in 1996. He and his wife, Helen, have continued researching and tracing historic routes and trails. This guide is a product of their travels.
