Hardcover in Good-plus condition, small 8vo, pages: [viii],310,[i]. Burgundy cloth with spine titles and decoration in gold; gold-stamped border on front board, blind-stamped on back, fore-edge untrimmed; decorative end-papers, frontis portrait with tissue, 32 black-and-white illustrations (including frontis and 18 plates, as called for). Bookplate on front paste-down (Charles Alfred Euston, 10th Duke of Grafton); bookseller's tag on rear paste-down (illegible: J. Pulsford's / The Royal Library / 80 Terminus Road / Eastbourne). Light to moderate wear to spine ends and tips, lower front tip severely bumped, spine cocked. Bookseller accession no.: 25870.
