I First edition. 1777; 2 volumes, 4to,; whole leather binding of the time, spine of both vol. much rubbed with lacking pieces, boards still halting but hinges cracked; ex libris stamp on pastedown in both vol. with initials H.D. and formula "Quod dixi dixi"; handwritten name: John Macdonald; inside excellent condition, the readers, if there were some, did not leave any signs behind; xvii, [vii], 488; [iv], 535, [xxiii index] pp., 4 folding maps by Thomas Kitchin, 2 in each vol; minor foxing on the margins of two maps; folding plate of Mexico absent; a good set with a much used binding.
