This official regimental history of the Assam Rifles, one of the oldest paramilitary forces in India, recounts their campaigns on the frontier and in WWI. L.W. Shakespear, an officer and historian, offers a detailed, chronological account backed by primary sources. Dark green covers with gilt design of two Gurka knives on front and gilt lettering on spine. 5 pages have small tape repairs. insignia of the Assam Rifles on the front cover. Black and white illustrations and 5 folding maps to rear. Front cover cloth has small nick and back cover is bumped. See photos for condition and request additional photos if interested.
