Edition and printing not known. In good half gilt edged green leather and marble patterned boards, with five raised horizontal bands to spine with gilt titles. The boards are flat and very tight and slightly marked; with cracks to leather to right edge of spine. The swirl patterned end papers are quite clean; the front paste down has a tiny white bookseller's sticker from George's, Bristol. The text block has 'numerous illustrations' in black and white and the pages are very securely attached. The Prelims are slightly tanned, the end pages are heavily tanned, and the text pages are mostly unmarked. There is a small vertical tear from the top end of the half title page. No dedications etc. Good condition . No jacket. Heavy. Please contact us for cost of postage.

Clevedon Community Bookshop, co-operatively owned, opened on 31 December 2011 and now has a general stock of approximately 20,000 books. Our Bookshop is in Copse Road in Clevedon and is open every day of the week except Mondays, from 10.30am to 4.30pm. The Bookshop Co-operative comprises nearly 650 members from around the world and was set up to stop the only second-hand bookshop in our town from closing. The benefit of being a member/shareholder is only social: no-one benefits financially. All profits are used to improve the bookshop and its stock, and, through events, to contribute to the literacy and literary profile of our town.
