Sold Only By Distributing Agents." Volume 1 showing edgewear and light scuffing, both hinges cracked, but holding, light internal foxing and browning. Volume 2 also scuffed and edgeworn, but better than vol. 1, hinges uncracked, also with internal browning. Inscription to the ffep of volume, "Presented to Melville E. Prilay on his 19th birthday by his grandparents Prilay, Bangor, May 12th, 1884." Indexing at the end of both volumes, along with several pages of advertising. A scarce set, still in decent condition.
