xxxii,469;xiii,473pp. 2 volumes. Octavo with brown cloth binding and gilt lettering and decoration on spine. Minor wear to spine edges and boards. A slight bit of foxing and darkening to front endpapers and vol 1 half-title but does not affect text. B&W frontispiece in both and one B&W map in vol 1. Name of previous owner on front endpapers and titles. good to very good Part of the Complete Works of William Hickling Prescott in Twelve Volumes. These are listed as volumes V and VI. By one of the foremost American historians of the 19th century, who studied the Spanish Empire extensively. His writings are are considered classics in their area.
