(1878). 510pp. Full maroon calf with gilt borders to boards, raised bands and elaborate gilt decoration to spine with brown leather title panel, gilt decoration to all outer edges and in blind to inner edges, all edges marbled, marbled endpapers. GOOD+ copy, binding square and tight, boards a little rubbed and scratched but generally clean, some minor partial fading, edges rubbed and worn, spine faded to brown but gilt still bright, internally excellent. School prize bookplate on front pastedown of Holstein House Ladies' College, South Yarra, dated 1884. Decorative ex libris bookplate on ffep of English pioneer neurosurgeon Thomas T. King (1930-2020) Prize bookplate verso front board and decorative ownership bookplate to ffep.
