Large quarto hardcover; pale green boards and paler green spine with white spine titling, green endpapers; 328pp., colour & monochrome illustrations. Minor wear; well-rubbed board edges, corners slightly frayed; mild offsetting to endpapers. Very good in like dustwrapper now professionally protected by superior non-adhesive polypropylene film. Postage quoted is for a standard format octavo book. Final charges may vary depending on size and weight. Looks at the influence of environment - the distinctive Australian landscape and climate, which have tended to make design less formal than that of Europe or America. And a country the size of Australia shows considerable regional differences in house types - from the dugouts of the Red Centre, the stilt houses of the tropical north and the cyclone-resistant structures of Darwin, to the sprawling verandahed homesteads of the inland and the dainty, lace decorated terraces of the cities.
