A history of the volunteer infantry of the Eleventh New Hampshire Regiment during the Civil War, detailing battles, sieges and daily life during the war, as well as documenting the actions of many of the soldiers. This includes Fredericksburg, the siege of Knoxville, Battle of the Wilderness, Spottsylvania, a description of the Andersonville and Florence prisons, the Battle of Fort Sanders, etc. With a roster in the rear and a 'compliment of L.W. Cogswell' slip of paper tipped in at the second front endpaper. GOOD condition. Ex-library with remains of spine label, pocket, pastedown and a few blindstamps in the interior. Minor soiling and fading to the cloth. Small area of staining to the front cover. Minor bumping and scuffing along the extremities. Text block clean and solid with minor toning to the paper.
