London: Jacob Tonson, 1720. Third edition, with additions, 1720. Complete in one volume. With two full page portraits and additional decorative engravings at chapter headings. Full paneled brown smooth leather with raised spine bands, remains of gilt lettered red spine label, title page in red and black, 15.5 inches tall, [14], 1150, [30] pages. Expected wear, scratches and scuffing to what is likely a period binding with chips to the spine foot, front hinge internally cracked but covers well attached, chips to front endpapers, outer edges of first few pages worn with small edge chips, first ten pages or so loosened a bit from the bottom but otherwise well attached, other pages very good with only a small margin chip to page 331/332, armorial bookplate of Boyd inside front cover, handwritten names of Jas. Stewart at top of title page along with the additional names and dates: William Boyd 1748, L.G.S. Boyd and Nicholas Boyd 1820, Nicholas E. Boyd 1881. . Hard Cover. Good. Folio - 12" - 15" Tall.
