Some minor rubbing on edges, with a few faint marks. Inside each volume, with professional, clever inside hinge reinforcement, thin strip of matching marbled added so nearly not noticeable. Volume One inside small mark lower inner corner first Ca 30 pages. Occasional foxing spots throughout. Else clean and tight copies. Size 8.5 x 5.25 inches 8 & 5 volumes. Portrait frontis to first volume by each author. History of England begun by David Hume and continued by Tobias Smollett.
