An Acceptable, full leather binding with gilt lettering on red spine labels, Volume 1 is not uniform with the other seven Volumes, moderate handling/scuffing and some soiling to boards, cracking and brittle leather spines, some loss to top and bottom spine edges, large chip to top leather spine Volume 1, joints and hinges are fragile, age toned text block, abrasions to board corners, ink marking to title page Volume 1, previous owner bookplate affirmed to front pastedown of 4 Volumes, five Volumes have handwritten ink name on prelim, Volume 2 has some pencil markings throughout and ink/pencil markings to rear matters, some moisture damage with moisture staining and warping, rubbing along board edges, few dog eared pages, Volume one appears to have newer endpapers and pastedowns and also stained text block edges.
