2nd edition, volume 1 of a 4 volume work (only vols 1 and 4 are by Macfarlan), this volume covers the years 1760-1770, volumes 2-4 are entitled 'History of the reign of George the Third', 402pp, half black morocco with marbled boards, very heavily rubbed and worn, all corners bumped (bottom ones heavily so), bookplate (John Hely Hutchinson) on front pastedown, endpapers and title heavily foxed, presentation label from Mrs Hely-Hutchinson to Lord Donoughmore on front endpaper, some light spotting, title soiled with a small hole in top margin, 8vo (13.5x21cm), ESTC T90791.
