This is the first nineteenth century printing of this classic history of the 17th century wars in New England. The first printings of this history, in 1716 and 1772, were entitled, "Entertaining Passages Relating to King Philip's War ." Howes C405: "Most popular early account of this war, based on information obtained from the author's father, a participant." The text describes, largely through the letters and tales of Benjamin Church, the campaigns against the indigenous tribes in Massachusetts and Maine in the late 17th century.
