Small 4to. Brown buckram with gilt lettering and medallion. 799pp, (1p), 55pp. Frontispiece map, illustrations. Near fine. Miniscule Wisconsin convent name inkstamped on front pastedown and bottom of title page and page 25. Facsimile reprint of this quite scarce 1881 southwest Wisconsin county history (Chicago: Western Historical Company) with its typical soup-to-nuts subtitle, with title page colophon noting this as #40 of an unspecified "Limited Reprint Edition." The great thing about this facsimile is that an all-important index has been added -- not present in the first edition -- which increases its research usefulness considerably. Quite tight and handsome -- and uncommon. FILBY 440.
