About the Author
Leonard A. Haug, CPP, has had a passion for payroll ever since he assumed his position as Payroll Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation in the mid-1980s. Over the next 15 years he would build and lead his payroll team to recognized payroll "best in class" status in areas of quality, customer service, and cost. For almost as long, Leonard has been an active member of the American Payroll Association, serving as both member and chairperson of many boards and committees. He has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the profession, including the APA's Payroll Man of the Year Award in 1994.
