HB New Edition. Marble effect paper on board front and back. Brown leather spine + corners, gilt edged. Brown leather spine. Gilt bands and decoration, gilt titles. 21.8 x 14cm. Vol 1 = 487 followed by index. Vol II = 501 followed by index. The Roman History from the Foundation of the City of Rome to the destruction of the Western Empire. Condition: spine seams have cracked. Wear on spine, small pieces of top layer of leather missing. Handling has dulled titles and decoration. Wear on cover edges and corners, boards showing. General age discolouration front and back. White library ref nos base of spine. Opening paste down period Bath ref library label presented to the library from the estate of Mrs Burbidge-Hambly 1924. Following blank pages small neat owner names top corners. One dated 1805, the other 1827. Preface page impressed period library stamp. Few pages mild foxing, in the main, clean, little wear, binding firm, overall good colour and condition for age.
