About the Author

William Chafe is Alice Mary Baldwin Professor of History, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, and Vice Prevost of Undergraduate Education, Duke University. Harvard Sitkoff is a Professor of History at University of New Hampshire. Beth Bailey is a Professor of History at Temple University.
