Red cloth with black lettering. Heavy rubbing to head and heel of spine and tips of corners. Front lower edge is rubbed to boards. Minor general wear and soil to boards. Endpapers show discoloration from aging binding glue. Text is clean and bright, no marks. Illustrated throughout with black and white drawings and a wonderful full-color frontis by Dorothy P. Lathrop. "On a cold Maine night in 1829, an old peddler carved a small doll out of a piece of mountain wood ash. Her name was Hitty and she was no ordinary doll.".

Your satisfaction is important to me! If you are dissatisfied with your purchase, your book
may be returned within 14 days of purchase with some restrictions. A full refund will be issued upon
safe receipt of the returned item. I am a stickler for this: Book MUST be returned IN THE ORIGINAL
PACKAGING. Books that are not carefully re-wrapped and sent back will NOT be accepted. If the book is
returned damaged, I will ship it back to you for an additional charge. NO EXCEPTIONS!
In the event that the book was not in the condition described, I will issue a full refund, including the
cost of return shipping. If your book is lost or damaged during shipment, I will naturally refund all of
your costs, and attempt to find you a replacement copy, if you desire.

Shipping terms
Orders generally ship within two days of ordering, more often on the same day.
As often as possible, I use recycled products to package the books.
This is not only a positive for the environment, but it helps us keep shipping costs as low as possible.
Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG.
Oversized books, heavy books, and sets will often require additonal postage.
If you are ordering overseas, these extra charges may be enormous.
Oders to Hawaii will only be shipped by Priority Mail.
