1956 Eighth impression (or Second edition, fourth impression) published by George Allen & Unwin. Dustjacket states Seventh impression. The publisher used surplus jackets from the previous printing, with the original price clipped and replacement price of 12s 6d printed by the publisher. Jacket is a little age toned, with small tears and chips to the spine ends and corners, with tanning and light spotting to the inside, and is in a tidy archival quality removable jacket. Green cloth covers with dragon and mountain decoration, generally fresh, with a little fading to the spine and edges, very slight lean, green top edge. Map endpapers, first blank page has a small mark where a price or name has been rubbed out, next blank page has a previous owners name in pen, otherwise pages clean and bright. A lovely copy in very good condition.
