Hardcover book in good- condition. Lacking dust jacket. This is an undated edition, presumed to be the 1963 14th impression of the second edition. Inscription dated 1963 to ffep, which has come partly torn from the book. All other pages are well attached to the binding, however there is a crack to the binding at the front. Interior pages are lovely, bright and unmarked. This edition still contains the red ink to the maps at the front and rear interior boards/ffep (this was changed to black in 1965), and the colour illustration of Hobbiton to the reverse title page.
