2nd edition, 10th impression, 1958. 'The Hobbit' is the first novel in Tolkien's fantasy world that continued with his 'Lord of the Rings' trilogy. In The Hobbit, the reader is introduced to Tolkien's world, following the adventures of Bilbo Baggins as he voyages with a group of dwarves to win a share of the treasure horded by the dragon Smaug. A good copy to start a Tolkien collection with at a fair price. Full light green cloth, slightly faded, lettering in black on the spine and front board, dragon and mountains on front board and rear boards. Binding and boards are square, boards have slight bow, pages slightly age-toned, but no other damaged to pages or boards. Dustwrapper, unclipped, some fading on spine and now protected in clear removable plastic sleeve that is chipping, has several small pieces missing. Dustwrapper spine age-toned. Several chips to dustwrapper at spine.
