It was down this road in 1832 that a detachment of the Edo fire-brigade traveled with a gift from a shogun to the emperor. One of the minor officials on the trip was Ando Hiroshige, and he spent most of his time sketching. It was very well received and he published several series of prints. This is the miniature edition.
