Radioman Jack Harlan survived the sinking. What followed was four days adrift in the Philippine Sea without rescue, without fresh water, and without enough life vests to go around.
The sharks found them the second night. They were in the water four days before anyone noticed they were missing. Jack gave himself one job: keep his friend Tommy Ruiz alive until rescue came.
HOLD FAST is drawn from one of the worst maritime disasters in American history. Some men survived the water. None of them came out unchanged.
