Hard cover in unclipped jacket. Probable first edition, later state/printing. Has the $1.50 price and Grr-r-r on page 23, as well as the blue-green cloth binding. An early work with Maurice Sendak's illustrations. FAIR jacket on a VERY GOOD book. Moderate to heavy soiling and darkening to the dust jacket. Some scuffing. Moderate edgewear, with general scuffing, and several minor chips and tears. Minor soiling and darkening along the lower extremities of the book. Minor bumping the book extremities. Minor scattered foxing throughout, with some foxing to the page edges. Some darkening to the text. One page with a diagonal scuff to the paper. Previous owner's dedication on the blank endpaper facing the title page. Price in pencil on the upper corner of the illustrated endpaper. Overall in FAIR/VERY GOOD condition.
