About the Author

Amanda Lumry is from Bellevue, Washington. Her interest in photography has blossomed since her parents bought her a camera in second grade. In June 1999, she graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University after studying photography in the Visual Environmental Studies Department.

Loren Wengerd is from Mt. Hope (Holmes County), Ohio. He grew up in a Mennonite home and had many Amish neighbors. He studied photography and music at Yale University and graduated in 2001. He enjoys underwater, landscape, wildlife and large format photography.

Laura Hurwitz lives in North Haven, Connecticut with her husband and six children. She pursued her childhood passion for writing while an English major at Yale University from which she graduated magna cum laude in 1977.
