According to RUDDIMAN (2003), the anthropogenic greenhouse era began at least 5000 years ago (RUDDIMAN, 2003, p. 265). He points out, that the implementation of agricultural practices required a clearance of woodland, which contributed to changing carbon and methane fluxes. The following report attempts to answer the question, how human behavior had influenced landscape. Therefore the history of anthropogenic impact on landscape will be described.
