(7 15/16 x 4 15/16 inches). [2], 811, [1]pp. Text in shorthand in two columns. Manuscript notes in shorthand on the rear endpapers. Contemporary blindstamped morocco, bound by David Chivers of Bath with his blindstamp on the rear endpaper. Provenance: W. P. Coleborn (small inked stamp) Bible in phonetic shorthand. Isaac Pitman developed his shorthand system in 1837, rapidly becoming the most commonly used shorthand system in the English-speaking world (and still in use today). He would first publish the Bible in shorthand in 1850, with editions following in 1867, 1872, 1890 and 1891. Seller Inventory # 33999
