Holy Smoke Screen (Paperback)

Paperback. Early morning gunfire erupts as Father Hardy and friends leave a Fairbanks breakfast. In addition to uniformed attackers and in-coming rounds, they're hearing distant unmistakable hand grenade and machine gun fire. Is this it? Is this real? The long-anticipated Russian invasion of the coveted Alaska Territory? Can this be the attack FBI Director J Edgar Hoover and others began predicting after World War II? Or is this whole thing an elaborate smoke screen? They're all here, characters you feel like you know: whip-smart, knife-carrying Evie, sniper and restaurateur, Andy; ex-agent William, also Rosie, Alice, Molly, Henry, and of course, husky extraordinar Whiskey Jack. Get set for a careening dogsled ride of action, adventure, humor, good and bad luck, and even romance. Since it's an Alaskan tale, is there gold? Of course. And maybe you'll think you know where it's hidden. But be warned. Others, more ruthless, are searching too, This item is printed on demand.
