Homosexuality: The Test Case for Christian Sexual Ethics (Theological Inquiries)

Suggests a Scriptures-based approach to the ethical issues of human sexual behavior, and uses it to examine the Church's attitude towards homosexuals

YA-- An insightful look into the much-debated issue of homosexuality and Christian sexual ethics. Hanigan writes well, challenging traditionalism and simplistic interpretations of biblical-historical views regarding homosexuality as it relates to moral issues and Christian ethics. He raises difficult questions and then engages readers in seeking answers based on the Christian teachings of justice, truth, and love. Hanigan refers to unanswered and unresolved issues regarding a scientific understanding of homosexuality, and he acknowledges the changing perception of a Christian sexual ethic in the Roman Catholic Church. This book provides succinct arguments and cogent reflections. Homosexuals are treated as people, not simply as objects of discussion, throughout this well-researched and well-presented title.
