James T. Farrell vaulted into the American literary firmament during the 1930s, becoming one of its brightest lights. He has worked as a reporter or editor at the "Providence Journal," the "Philadelphia Inquirer," the "New Haven Journal-Courier" and the "Register of Torrington," Connecticut. He lives with his wife, Susan, in Arlington, Virginia.
