Hope & Healing for Substance Use and Addiction: A Guide to Accepting Grace and Sustaining Recovery, Dr. Brian Kelley & Dr. David Jenkins, The Christian Counseling Workbook Series

When substance use or addiction becomes a cycle, freedom can feel out of reach.

You may want to change, but feel caught between shame, secrecy, damaged trust, and repeated attempts that do not last. Whether the struggle is new, ongoing, or has affected your life for years, the next step can feel hard to see.

But substance use and addiction do not have to have the final word.

In this practical, biblically grounded substance use and addiction workbook, Dr. Brian Kelley and Dr. David Jenkins offer a clear path toward accepting grace, taking honest steps forward, and sustaining recovery over time.

Recovery is not only about becoming clean and sober. It is about learning to live with greater honesty, purpose, connection, forgiveness, and hope. Lasting change begins when you face what is beneath the surface and begin building new patterns that support real freedom.

In this workbook, you will learn how to:

• Recognize the patterns, excuses, and rationalizations that keep addiction in place
• Take practical steps toward recovery with honesty and courage
• Address shame, fear, confusion, and damaged trust
• Understand the role of grace, forgiveness, and spiritual growth in healing
• Build healthier rhythms that support long-term sobriety
• Move toward restored relationships, renewed purpose, and lasting change

Designed with guided exercises and practical reflection, this Christian addiction recovery workbook helps readers move beyond short-term behavior change toward deeper emotional, relational, and spiritual growth.
