Octavo (26cm); light orange cloth-covered boards with titling and decoration stamped in red on spine and front cover; 50pp; black-and-white illustrations throughout, with concluding full-page color plate illustrations. This copy is from the library of noted poet, translator, and anthropologist Nathaniel Tarn (1928-2024), with his pictorial bookplate to front pastedown. A Near Fine copy. Text includes the First Edition's preface by Kennard and foreword by Benedict, with an additional preface written by Kennard for this revised edition. Explores the role of Kachinas in Hopi life, materials for Kachina, the dance, and the Niman Kachina Ceremony. [87374].
