Si bien no estamos ante un libro de poemas, es indudable que el trabajo de Strand debe mucho a la poesía y a la forma de mirar que nutre el ejercicio poético. Y a esa labor se le añade en esta edición –ilustrada con las pinturas que originan los textos– la espléndida traducción de Juan Antonio Montiel, capaz de trasladar al castellano toda la riqueza de matices y acentos del original inglés.

About the Author
Mark Strand nació en 1934 en la isla Príncipe Eduardo de Canadá. Su obra abarca poesía, ensayo y traducción. Tras estudiar pintura en Yale, se dedicó a la literatura, especialmente a la poesía italiana, española y brasileña. Tradujo obras de Rafael Alberti y Carlos Drummond de Andrade, entre otros. Fue profesor de varias universidades. De entre su obra cabe destacar los poemarios Sleeping with One Eye Open (1964), The Late Hour (1974) o Man and Camel (2006).
