Hormonal BioIdentity is the unique dynamic in hormone balance that each of us carries throughout our lifespan. This individualized approach to management is written to educate physicians, providers, and patients about hormone optimization, and to be a reference and a companion guide. We realize that there is a large amount of information to absorb in this book. Practicing good medicine requires state-of-the-art scientific information, clinical experience and judgment. What we hope to provide is to share our approach to managing our patients and providing you with peer reviewed literature to support our management style. There are many aspects of this field of medicine that are controversial and even lead to emotional arguments. Conventional wisdom is often supported by myths, not evidence. Because of these differences in expert opinion, we have provided the abstracts for the medical literature we cite. In this way the reader can get a deeper understanding of the scientific information that is the basis of hormone optimization. Also provided are step-by-step branched chain algorithms to guide treatment.

Barbie J. Barrett MD MS. ABAARM, FACEP - Dr. Barbie Barrett is board certified in Emergency Medicine and a diplomate of the American Board of Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine. In addition to her Medical Degree she holds a Master's Degree in Metabolic and Nutritional Medicine through the University of Southern Florida. After completing residency and internship at the University of Southern California-Los Angeles she founded Entrada Medical Group formerly known as Physicians Youthful Resolutions with offices in San Francisco and Carmel California, specializing in cosmetic and physiologic Anti-aging and Regenerative Medicine. She functions as a board examiner for the American Board of Antiaging and Regenerative Medicine. She was also elected to serve as an Examiner for the American Board of Emergency Medicine as well as the Board of Medical Quality Assurance for the State of California. Dr. Barrett currently is an Associate Professor at Stanford University and Medical Center. Andrew Jurow, M.D., M.S. FACOG. ABAARM - Dr. Jurow specializes in providing unique medical care building on a solid foundation of years of medical expertise. He completed internship and residency as Obstetrician Gynecologist at the University of Southern California, Los Angeles County Medical Center. As Chief of his department for over ten years, he champions the latest regenerative medical breakthroughs and cutting-edge technology for his patients. He has received years of additional education and training and completed his fellowship at the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine where he currently serves as an Expert Board Examiner. He has completed his Master's Degree at the University of Southern Florida, Medical School in Nutritional and Metabolic Medicine. Dr. Jurow applies the art of regenerative medicine to his knowledge of natural body balance and hormone use. This has allowed him to restore a natural balance to both his male and female patients.
Kris Hart, MN, FNP, R.N.-B.C. Associate Medical Director, California HealthSpan Institute, Encinitas, CA Ms. Hart has been a health care provider since the 1970 s. Ms. Hart has a Master s Degree in Nursing with Family Practice Nurse Practitioner certification from UCLA. She has completed 4 years post graduate study. She currently is working in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine and Preventive/Regenerative Medicine. She has completed the Certification and Fellowship program in Preventive/Regenerative/ Functional medicine as an allied health professional. Ms. Hart's background in family practice, critical care and emergency medicine and natural hormone optimization is extensive. She has lectured extensively to beginning and experienced physicians and published multiple papers and books in our emerging specialty of preventive and regenerative medicine
