Store description
François de Mélogue Books is an independent Vermont-based bookseller specializing in culinary literature, antiquarian and collectible cookbooks, first editions, signed books, vintage restaurant menus, and culinary ephemera. Founded by François de Mélogue, a professional chef, cookbook author, and photographer, the shop reflects more than four decades of experience in the culinary world and a longstanding interest in its history. Our inventory includes French and European gastronomy, classic culinary reference works, historical cookbooks, and books documenting the chefs, restaurants, techniques, and traditions that have shaped how we cook and eat. We sell individual books rather than assembled collections, with particular attention to unusual editions, provenance, historical significance, and the condition of each volume. Every book is individually described and photographed, with an emphasis on accuracy and transparency. Based in St. Albans, Vermont, we serve chefs, culinary historians, collectors, bibliophiles, and anyone interested in the written history of food.…
