You've been scrolling for hours. Reddit threads argue about whether it's worth watching. YouTube reviews contradict each other. Google gives you plot summaries but not answers. You just want to know: Should I watch House of Guinness? Is it actually good? What's real and what's fiction?
Stop searching. This book answers everything.
House of Guinness Review: Promised Grit, Served Glamour is the only comprehensive guide that tells you exactly what Netflix's period drama delivers—and what it doesn't. Forget vague opinions. This is 16 chapters of detailed analysis, historical fact-checking, episode-by-episode breakdowns, and honest recommendations.
Here's what you get:
✅ Episode-by-Episode Quality Guide – Know which episodes to watch, which to skip, and when to take breaks. Episode 3 is brilliant. Episode 5 is tedious. We tell you why.
✅ Real vs. Fiction Breakdown – Was Arthur Guinness really gay? Did the Fenians riot at the funeral? Is Sean Rafferty real? Every claim fact-checked with historical sources.
✅ The Irish Controversy Explained – Understand why Irish critics are furious while American reviewers praise it. The "leprechaun Fenian" costumes, historical stereotypes, and cultural insensitivity dissected.
✅ Performance Analysis – James Norton's magnetic Rafferty, Anthony Boyle's devastating Arthur, and why Anne deserved more screen time.
✅ Decision Trees: Should YOU Watch? – Customized recommendations based on what you value: accuracy, entertainment, Peaky Blinders nostalgia, or time constraints.
✅ Cliffhanger Theories – Who got shot in the finale? All evidence analyzed with probability rankings.
✅ Trailer vs. Reality – How Netflix marketed it vs. what you actually get. The Succession comparison is misleading. We explain why.
✅ 40+ FAQs Answered – Every question you're asking: cast details, filming locations, Season 2 likelihood, historical accuracy percentages, viewing tips.
✅ Quick Reference Tables – Star ratings, character guides (real vs. fictional), timeline comparisons, and skip strategies.
This isn't another surface-level review. This is the book you wish existed before you wasted 6.5 hours on something that disappoints—or before you missed a flawed gem worth watching despite its problems.
Whether you're deciding if it's worth your time, fact-checking while watching, or debating it with friends afterward—this book makes you the most informed person in the room.
Written for viewers who demand more than "it's pretty good" or "I liked it." For history buffs who need accuracy assessments. For Irish viewers seeking validation of their criticisms. For Peaky Blinders fans wondering if Steven Knight's latest measures up. For anyone tired of contradictory online opinions.
Stop scrolling. Start reading. Get answers.
Get your copy now and discover what House of Guinness really delivers—behind the slow-motion, beyond the hype, beneath the Guinness family drama.

Store description
**Please note our transit times are from the date of dispatch.** We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first purchase with us, or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
