"Your House, Their Rules is one of the best books about feline behavior and care that I have come across in ages."

Your House, Their Rules is a comprehensive guide to cat care and related topics. With lighthearted satire, Christopher Mancuso bends his knee to cat royalty while revealing secrets of the Celestial Meow, an ancient religion behind their quirky and often misunderstood behaviors. Each chapter delivers educational and enlightening information, as well as tips and techniques for all stages of cat care. Whether you are an experienced cat owner or only considering a life of Felion Subjugation, Your House, Their Rules is chock full of valuable information, wrapped in a warm blanket of humor and relatability.

Mancuso goes way beyond the basics, with sections dedicated to special needs cats, abused cats, bottle-kittens, and so much more. A longtime advocate of foster care and adoption, he dispels common concerns and unpacks many topics related to shelter cats and the process of helping them find castles to rule. He also shares over a dozen personal stories from his experience fostering hundreds of cats and kittens in his home, now affectionately known as Hotel Mancuso. From earning the trust of Mr. Bitey the abused cat, to finding a perfect home for Chloe the blind kitten, these tales provide a firsthand look into the joys and challenges of loving all sorts of cats. It’s obvious that Your House, Their Rules is Christopher’s love letter to cats and it will make any reader fall in love with our feline friends as well.

What started as a tribute to honor the memory of his beloved Sunny Girl turned into a consuming passion to help rescue shelter pets, especially cats. Christopher's dedication to saving cats propelled him to Assistant Director of Staten Island Hope Animal Rescue, and from 2019-2021, he was the Foster/Adoption Manager for the New York branch of Louie's Legacy, one of the country's largest foster-based animal rescues. Chris and his wife, Catherine, have fostered more than 300 cats and kittens, including those with special needs and bottle-kittens. Having taken traumatized cats into his home, Christopher has gained valuable experience helping them overcome fears and behavioral challenges. Aside from his work in animal rescue, Christopher is an award-winning screenwriter. Most recently, his screenplay "America's Most Haunted Spooky Ghost-Hunting Adventures In The Paranormal" was awarded Best Short Script at the 2022 Boston Horror Comedy Film Festival. Some of his other short scripts were produced by Lake Films and have won awards at festivals around the country.
