The House of Smarba

Debbie and Nathan Loch once had the perfect family—two beautiful children, Martin and Bella, and a life full of promise. But everything changes in the blink of an eye when a tragic hit-and-run accident steals Bella’s life away, leaving Debbie and her family in a deep, suffocating grief. In a desperate attempt to escape the sorrow, they move to a new home, hoping for a fresh start.

But as they settle into their new house, strange things begin to happen. Martin, still struggling with the loss of his sister, starts having vivid, unsettling dreams about a young boy named Malachi and his collection of antique toys. Descriptions of these toys that Martin could never have seen before set off alarm bells in Debbie's mind. Though Nathan dismisses her fears as a byproduct of grief, Debbie becomes obsessed with unraveling the mystery of Malachi and his eerie toys.

What begins as a simple curiosity soon spirals into something much darker. The house, steeped in strange history, holds secrets far more terrifying than Debbie could have imagined. The toys, linked to a malevolent force, become the gateway to a nightmare that threatens not only her family’s peace but their very souls. As Debbie delves deeper into the chilling mystery, she uncovers a horrifying truth that could drag her loved ones straight into the abyss of Hell itself.

In House of Smarba, Mike Duke spins a spine-tingling tale of grief, mystery, and supernatural terror, where the boundaries between the living and the dead blur, and every discovery leads closer to an unimaginable horror. Will Debbie be able to save her family, or will the malevolent force inside the house claim them all?
