The October, 1921 printing. (First was April 1921). Large 4to half black cloth and tan paper-covered boards. Spine lettered in gilt; front cover lettered in black. Color pictorial cover onlay. Illustrated with 12 full-page color and 24 full-page b/w captioned plates as well as b/w pictorial endpapers and chapter headings by Pyle. This copy presented to a young "Pirate" by Willard Morse, Pyle's biographer. A very fine copy in a very fine dust jacket (price $6.00). The whole preserved in a worn publisher's box which is heavily repaired with tape and is missing a small piece from one flap. A nice survival with an interesting presentation.
