Full leather boards (bound by Mudie) with gilt and blind stamped borders, Bright gilt emblem on front with figure of an owl, Great Ealing School. Spine leather intact but with rough surface, 5 bands. Mild discoloring to extremities of boards, mild rubbing to edges. Marbled end papers. Verso of ffep has handwritten in ink an inscription for the prize for the Second English from the Great Ealing School (founded 1698) signed by the principal and dated July, 1876.
