With over 20 years of experience in teaching anatomy, he has been deeply committed to educating students across various disciplines, including medicine, dentistry, nursing and allied health sciences. He is a strong advocate for the integration of digital tools in anatomy education. Prof. Dheen served as Head of the Department of Anatomy at NUS from 2016-2022. Under his leadership, the Department launched several digital platforms including the Anatomy e-Museum and the Human Anatomy Learning Resources (HALO). These initiatives offer interactive and immersive learning experiences, effectively bridging the gap between traditional anatomy teaching and evolving technological approaches. He believes that such initiatives not only enhance students' retention and comprehension but also foster a deeper appreciation for anatomy and its relevance to clinical practice. As Co-Editor of this book, Prof. Dheen brings together his educational expertise, digital vision and academic leadership to deliver a resource that is aligned with the modern enhanced curriculum. This book reflects his commitment towards making anatomy more accessible, integrated and impactful for the next generation of healthcare professionals.

Beyond undergraduate education, Assoc. Prof. Yip contributes actively to continuing education training initiatives within the School, supporting postgraduate residents across various medical disciplines in expanding their anatomical knowledge. These initiatives underscore his commitment to lifelong learning and his recognition of the importance of anatomy across all stages of medical training. His efforts not only enhance the learning experience at NUS but also contribute to the broader advancement of medical education in the region.
