About the Author
Kent D. Barnett Founder and CEO, KnowledgeAdvisors, Inc. Kent started KnowledgeAdvisors in 2000 with the goal of helping organizations measure and improve the impact of people. Since that time, Kent and his talented team from KnowledgeAdvisors have worked with hundreds of leading organizations around the world to develop best practices in this area. KnowledgeAdvisors is now the clear market leader in learning and development measurement. Prior to 2000, Kent was a corporate banker and President of a major technology training company. As a banker, Kent learned to help organizations maximize shareholder value through ROI analysis including returns on human capital investments. As the President of a global training company, Kent used his financial analysis skills to create measurable value for corporate clients. He has an MBA in finance from Northwestern University s Kellogg School of Management. Kent is certified in the Stern Stewart Economic Value Added (EVA) Methodology. Jeffrey A. Berk Chief Operating Officer, KnowledgeAdvisors, Inc. Jeffrey joined KnowledgeAdvisors in 2001. Jeffrey works closely with clients to implement the Metrics that MatterŪ technology and devise appropriate human capital and learning measurement strategies. Prior to joining KnowledgeAdvisors, Jeffrey worked with Andersen for nearly a decade. While with Andersen he was the Manager of Benchmarking Services. He led the quantitative and qualitative benchmarking initiatives on a global scale for the firm. Jeffrey is also an adjunct professor of management Northwestern s Kellogg School of Management and Loyola University's MBA program where he teaches a graduate school course on performance improvement. He is also an adjunct faculty member at the Depaul University where he teaches a class on learning evaluation. He is the author of the book Champions of Change: The Managers Guide to Sustainable Process Improvement. Jeffrey, a CPA, began his professional career first working as an auditor before moving to consulting at Andersen then KnowledgeAdvisors. He has an MBA from the University of Chicago and degrees in business and accounting from the University of Kansas.
