The Human Compass

What happens when both sides are right?

Discover a magical journey that teaches children the true meaning of justice — not winning an argument, but understanding every side of it.

In The Human Compass: The Scales of the River, Ari and his wise companion Shaka Bird follow the golden compass to a vast crystal river, where ancient stone scales rise from the water when hearts seek what's fair. There, a beaver and an otter are locked in a heated dispute over a single golden pebble — one found it, the other made it shine. Both worked for it. Both deserve to be heard.

When Ari places the pebble into the river, the scales rise — and something remarkable happens. Not a winner. Not a loser. But understanding.

Perfect for children ages 4–9, this beautifully illustrated story blends majestic adventure with meaningful life lessons about fairness, balance, and the quiet wisdom of listening before speaking.

• Teaches children that fairness means understanding, not just dividing equally
• Explores conflict resolution through a gentle, relatable animal story
• Shows that justice begins with listening — not with who shouts the loudest
• Perfect for bedtime reading, classroom discussion, or conversations about sharing and fairness
