Add to basketMAX SCHELER (1874–1928) taught at the Universities of Jena, Munich, and Cologne. He studied under Dilthey and Simmel, and his philosophy of the "lived body" deeply influenced Merleau-Ponty. Edith Stein was one of his students, and Pope John Paul II wrote among other works on him, his Habilitation on Scheler. Scheler disagreed with Husserl’s phenomenological methods and instead pursued phenomenological intuition.
